Selma Faye Ford, 76, of Cookeville, Tennessee passed from this life on Monday, December 19, 2016 at Bethesda Health Care Center. Faye was born in Spencer, TN on Friday, May 31, 1940 to the late Betty (Presley) Johnson and the late L.V. Hale. Faye was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister and daughter.She loved to prepare meals for the homeless on multiple occasions. Faye married Harlan S. Ford October 2, 1958 in Alabama. Faye is survived by: 2 Daughters: Kathy and Leon Elrod of Cookeville, Tennessee Carolyn and Mark Dishman of Sparta, Tennessee Son: John and Debbie Ford of Sparta, Tennessee 4 Grandsons: Jason Henry of Sparta, Tennessee Brad Emerton of Nashville, Tennessee Steven Ford of Sparta, Tennessee Brandon Comfort of Virginia 2 Granddaughters: Sabrina and Chad McDowell of Sparta, Tennessee Alexandria Dishman of Sparta, Tennessee 7 Great-Grandchildren 2 Brothers: Elwood and Audry Hale of Spencer, Tennessee Dale Johnson of Sparta, Tennessee 5 Sisters: Margie and Gene Dukes of Doyle, Tennessee Phoebe Brymer of Doyle, Tennessee Ruth Frady of Spencer, Tennessee Betty Jo Brewer of Spencer, Tennessee Margaret and Wayne Price of Doyle, Tennessee A host of nieces and nephews In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by: Husband, Harlan S. Ford, Son, Jim Ford, Grandson, Brian Emerton, Brother, E.J. Johnson and Sister, Joene Emerton. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 4:00 pm unitl 5:00 pm at Crest Lawn Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life for Faye Ford will be held Thursday, December 22, 2016 from the Chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home at 5:00 pm.
