Kenneth Lindsey Watson

Kenneth Lindsey Watson, age 53 years old, of Adams, TN departed this world to be with Jesus in his heavenly home on January 5, 2017. He was born to Joyce and Ralph Watson in Franklin, TN on January 31, 1963. He was a graduate of Page High School class of 1981. He was the former store manager at Goodyear in Clarksville,, TN. Kenneth is survived by his loving devoted wife, Kim Welch Watson; Momma (as Kenneth would spell it!), Joyce Rawls Watson; daughters, Kaitlin and Kirsten Watson whom he loved with all his heart and was so very proud of them; sisters and spouses, Connie (George) Molina, Darlene (Mike) Heath, Ruth (Steven) King, Christy (Johnny) Beard, and his only brother, Steve Watson; several nieces, nephews and cousins; his bonus family that came into his life and he loved so much, stepdaughter, Chelsea Button, stepson, Caleb Moore and step granddaughter, Dakota age 5 who lovingly called him PopPop; his father and mother in law, Lynn and Janell Welch and brother in law, John Welch; his best friend Kinny Johnson and many friends too numerous to count. Preceded in death by father, Ralph Watson, nephews, Jarod Watson, Harrison Weaver, Brandon Halliburton and niece, Rachel Weaver Eaton. Kenneth grew up in the Bethesda community in Thompson’s Station, TN and worked on the farm with his dad, brother and sisters. In his early 20’s, he sang in a band called “Ivory Tower” with his longtime friend Greg Morton and they wrote and sang songs for many years in St. Louis, MO. He attended Bethesda United Methodist Church as a child and he was attending Hilldale Baptist Church in Clarksville, TN when he went to be with the Lord. He sang in the choir and shared many solos which was one of his favorite loves in life when able to minister in song about God’s glory. Kenneth loved life to the fullest and was a very talented man playing the drums and bass guitar and when he sang, Heaven stopped and listened. He was so excited when he got chosen to star in his first movie, “Possessions” written by his friend David Colon. He shared with us that the three things he realized after meeting Kenneth was that he loved and shared often was his love for God, his love for his family, and his love to express his art whether it be in singing or stretching into the acting side of his craft. He loved scuba diving, and laughed about looking like a beached whale in his scuba outfit. He and Kim, whom he called his “babydoll” enjoyed going out on the boat on Center Hill Lake and looking at God’s beautiful creation, but he would be the first to tell you he LOVED to eat. The thought of eating was one of the major highlights of the day and he would post every place he went to eat and what they had on the menu and what he ate and even took pictures of it and sent it to us. And the other thing we will always laugh about is the fact that he also LOVED his naps on Sunday afternoon after church. If he invited you over to eat he would always make sure you knew you had to be gone by 2:00 PM so he could get in his nap to be rested for church that night. He was an avid fan of University of Alabama football and never missed a game and at any moment could be heard at any occasion yelling, “Roll Tide!”. We will all miss him dearly but look forward to the day we can re-unite for that special reunion in Heaven where there will be no more tears, pain, or sadness ever again. A Memorial service will be held at the Bethesda United Methodist Church, 4812 Bethesda Road, Thompson’s Station, TN 37179 (615-794-2191) on January 21, 2017 with receiving of friends starting at 10:30-11:45 AM with services to follow at 12 Noon.
