Walter Allen Haynes, age 74, of Crossville departed this life on November 26, 2016 at Cumberland Medical Center. Walter was born December 8, 1941 to Joseph & Thelma Haynes of Nashville. He was a graduate of Franklin High School, Class of 1960 and attended Middle Tennessee State College. Walter served three years in the United States Army's "Big Red One" Division. Following his military service, he worked for the United States Postal Service in Nashville as a clerk. In retirement, Walter enjoyed working at the Druid Hills Golf Course in Fairfield Glade, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Janet Traughber Haynes, of Crossville; daughters, Angie Haynes of Hermitage and Amy (Tim) Hawkins of Bowling Green, KY; brothers, Mike Haynes, Ezell (Vicki) Haynes, and Jeff (Karen) Haynes; six grandchildren, Jonathan, Ryan and Haley Hawkins, Joseph Norris, Jonathan and Kaleigh Haynes; step-daughters, Stacie Stringfellow and Shelley (Jared) Matthews; and step-grandchildren, Aden and Ethan Matthews . Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 29th, 2016 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. Interment, Williamson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 28, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Williamson Memorial Funeral Home.
