Years later she was rescued again by another Tennessee Army Air Corp pilot, J.G. McAfee.
She loved her life on her Tennessee mountain top refuge with wildlife abounding. The countless variety of birds and animals provided her companionship, serenity and peace. It was home.
Mrs. McAfee was preceded in death by: her parents; her first husband, Harry D. Walker in 1985; her second husband, J.G. “Mac” McAfee in 1998; and a son, Darrell Walker.
Survivors include: one daughter, Debby and husband John Butterworth of Concord, CA; two grandsons, Jonathan Butterworth of Seattle, WA and Andrew Butterworth of Martinez, CA; one brother, Boyd Pope of Salt Lake City, UT; two sisters, Joylin Mahl of California and Gayle Holmgren of Iowa; several nieces and nephews also survive.
