Jimmie Hugh Pope, 81, of Loudon, passed away Saturday morning at his home. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church and former member of the gospel group, the Vocalaires. He was a willing soloist at many weddings and funerals and served as choir director at several churches in Loudon County. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He worked in the textile industry and then later at ORNL. Preceded in death by parents, Sanford and Leona Dills Pope. Survived by his wife, Bette Jane (Limburg) Pope; daughters, Betsy Pope and fiancé, Paul Senna, of Florida and Martha Jane Pope Brown, of North Carolina; sisters, Doris Pope Prater and Janet Pope Hails; sister-in-law, Doris Ann Limburg Farmer; grandchildren, Buddy Brown and Wendy Ann Belcher; great-grandchild, Astrid King; special nephew, Robert F. Limburg II (Bobby) and several other nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 4:00-5:00 pm, Friday, December 23, at Central United Methodist Church in Lenoir City, with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 5:00 pm. Arrangements provided by Loudon Funeral Home.
