Boyd (JR) Maples, Jr.-age 74 of Maynardville passed away peacefully Monday, February 6, 2017 at North Knoxville Medical Center. He was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by wife, Shirley Langley Maples; parents, Boyd and Lelia Maples; step-daughter, Erma Jean Langley. Survivors: son, Rickey Maples and wife, Kim; daughters, Melissa Wynn and husband, Phillip; Tracy Wynn and husband, Richard, all of Maynardville; seven grandchildren, Megan (John) Wynn, Kristen Wynn, Brittany (Matt) Scott, Tanner Maples, Dillon Wynn, Cody Wynn, Lynn Clapp; two great-grandchildren, Hayden Chesney, Spencer Clapp, brother, Roy Maples, Maynardville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services 11 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2017, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. James Whitson officiating. Interment will follow at Hines Creek Church Cemetery, Maynardville. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2017 Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
