Lila Roberts, 89, of Abilene, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017. A Funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 18, 2017, in North’s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Paul Matta officiating. Burial to follow, in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, in Sweetwater, Texas, under the direction of North’s Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. ~ 7:00 P.M. Tuesday evening, in North’s Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange St. Mrs. Roberts was born June 23, 1927 in Coleman, Texas to Carlos and Alice (Wileman) Burleson. She worked in Civil Engineering at Dyess Air Force Base for thirty years. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church and sang with the Abilene’s Celebration Singers. She was preceded in death by her first and second husbands, William Williams and I.V. “Blackie” Roberts respectively. One brother, Hugh Lynn Burleson. She is survived by her four children; Bill Williams and wife Linda of Missoula, Montana, Glenda Tannery and husband Ronnie of Denver, Colorado, Hal Williams and wife Anita of Dallas, Texas and Deborah Gist and husband Ken of Abilene, Texas.
