William Faulks Obituary

William Glenn Faulks, 72, passed away Wednesday morning at his home in the Elm Valley area. A Memorial service will be held in Beltway Baptist Church on January 9, 2017 at 1:00 pm. Born and raised in Abilene, Mr. Faulks was a lifelong resident of the Big Country, spending the majority of this time at his beloved home tucked away in the woods of Elm Valley. In his early years, Mr. Faulks, was an active member of the local FHA, showing and competing with a wide variety of livestock. After graduating from Abilene High in 1962, Mr. Faulks, enlisted in the United States Army where he completed his basic training and eventually moved on to the National Guard. It was after this, that he began to turn his focus to what everyone knew to be his passion, by opening several music stores in the city Abilene. Mr. Faulks was a talented guitar player and musician writing a good amount of his own music and playing at venues across the Abilene area. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved nature, and was a successful businessman and very passionate about his career. He would spend the majority of what was to become his career in the oil business. Mr. Faulks began his endeavors during the height of the “oil boom” in the Midland/Odessa area. Inevitably, this is where he would find his success as a respected Oil Consultant. He used these successes to eventually open his own Wholesale Oil Facility. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wendell and Evelyn Faulks, Uncles Foy, Archie, Doyle Faulks and Cousin Kathy Nickerbocker. He leaves his wife of 52 years, Patsye Caroline Faulks. Daughter, Angela DeLeon, and husband Frank. Grandchildren, Austin and Landon Jumper. Great Grandchildren, Peyten and Austin Jumper Jr. Sister in laws, Peggy Collins and Beverly Curry. Glenn was a respected member of his community, very strong in his faith and one who always put an emphasis on family. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
