Christopher Henry Lyngos passed away suddenly on November 22nd at the age of 49. Chris was born in Dearborn, Michigan on May 1, 1967. He grew up in Sugarland, Texas making many great life-long friendships. He attended Dulles High School, went on to Baylor University and graduated from Stephen F. Austin University where he was a member of the Theta Chi fraternity. Chris was a natural athlete. He played football, basketball, golf and was a member of the swim team but his true love from the time he was a small child was baseball. Chris got his nickname, “Mr. Baseball” in little league and always wore number “14” on his uniform. This early love for the game ultimately led him to a 22-year career in Major League Baseball. Chris Lyngos served as the Texas Ranger’s Director of Major League Travel from 1998-2014. He was responsible for coordinating all of the club’s travel and road accommodations for spring training, all of the regular season, and five postseason and World Series playoff appearances. Chris was a Texas Ranger to his core and treasured his two Major League Championship rings. In 2010 Chris was named the MLB Traveling Secretary of the Year, an honor given to him by popular vote amongst his MLB peers. Chris was loved and well respected by the Ranger players, staff, and his MLB peers. He was someone they could count on to do a great job with a smile on his face and good humor in his heart. Chris started with the Texas Rangers organization in 1992 as a group sales intern in the ticket office before joining the club full-time as an assistant in Ballpark Development. He later served as the team’s Director of Special Events, coordinating all activities at the Ranger’s Youth Ballpark as well as other ballpark events. Chris was an outdoorsman and an avid wildlife hunter. He took to it like a duck to water. It was his passion and it gave him great peace and enjoyment. A lifelong animal lover, Chris owned and trained numerous world-class Labrador Retrievers, but the most beloved of all was his first Lab “Bailey”. Christopher Henry Lyngos is survived by his wife Lisa Woolsey Lyngos, daughter Lindsay Autumn, and step son Nathan Cyzmer, his father Henry Lyngos and wife Melissa, his mother Judith Thomas Lyngos, and his three sisters Leisha, Lisa and Amy. A Service of Remembrance for Chris Lyngos will be held at 4:00pm on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas in the Jack Daniel’s Club. The Globe Life Park is located at 1090 Ballpark Way, and parking is available in the B Lot at the corner of Ballpark Way and Randol Mill Road.
