Hunter Walter Hughes, 70, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2016 in Mansfield. His life will be celebrated with a memorial service on Saturday, December 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Bethesda Community Church of Fort Worth, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ft. Worth Teen Challenge, P.O. Box 731, Ft. Worth , Tx 76101, Bethesda Community Church, 4700 N. Beach St., Ft. Hunter was born in Blytheville, Arkansas on January 27, 1946 to Velma Louise Mullins and Hunter Walter Hughes. He was a graduate of Arlington High School in 1964, and attended Arlington State College. On April 29, 1967, he married Susan Elizabeth Schaefer at First Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas. Hunter was a Heating/AC, Electrical Contractor and owned Hughes Mechanical and Electrical Contractors for 47 years. Hunter is survived by his wife of 49 years, Susan S. Hughes; one son, Chris Hughes and wife, Lesley; one brother, James Wesley Hughes; four grandchildren, McKenna Hughes, Hunter Hughes, Landry Leatherwood and Lawson Leatherwood. He was preceded in death by his parents, Velma Louise and Hunter Walter Hughes, a daughter, Rheagan Rhea Hughes Leatherwood; grandson, Landon Leatherwood and sister, Madora Haltom.
