Mary Beth Lewis, age 66, of Brady passed away on Saturday (March 25, 2017) at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Royce Lewis of Brady. Mary Beth was born in Stamford, Texas on October 4, 1950 and grew up in Tyler, Texas. She was the daughter of Paul and Signa Stanley. She graduated from John Tyler High School and received a degree in education from Abilene Christian University. On December 27, 1972, she married the love of her life, Royce. Mary Beth taught first grade in Brady for 33 years. She was a devoted teacher and highly admired by coworkers and students alike. Besides her husband, Royce, Mary Beth leaves her children, Lauren and Stanley of Houston, TX. Mary Beth also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Rylan, Landry, and Austin. Mary Beth was an incredible person and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She had a very strong testimony of the gospel and was a great example of faith, love, and strength. Mary Beth held many callings at church over the years. She had the gift of being a friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The family would like to thank the community, hospital, and churches of Brady for all the prayers and help received during her cancer battle. In addition she was blessed with an amazing group of cancer specialists that included Dr Ronjay Rakkhit of Oncology Consultants, Dr Yu of Precision Center and Dr Raza of Premier Vein and Vascular Center in Houston. These doctors and their nursing staff treated Mary Beth with the utmost of care. A special thank you to all the prayer warriors of Mary Beth's Facebook site, Moving Mountains for Mary Beth. She gained strength from reading all the posts from her supporters. And last, we would like to thank the nurses at Hospice of San Angelo for helping her finish her journey. They were extremely compassionate during a difficult time. Memorials may be made to the Heart of Texas Bible Camp or Hope for the Heart, both local charities in Brady.
