Bishop Oscar Wendell Payton was born October 24, 1953 in Houston, Texas from Gertrude Payton Wynne and Clifford Ray. Oscar grew up in Houston and was raised by his mother and step-father Elmer Wynne. A graduated from Kashmere High School and attended the University of Houston where he played football. Bishop Payton accepted Christ at 26 years old at Zion Hill Baptist Church. He became the Senior Pastor and Founder of New Beginnings Worldwide Outreach Ministries and had with over 29 years of ministry experience. Possessing a College Degree and Doctorate in Theology, he was a motivated business professional with a successful track record. Possessing theanointing of the 5-fold ministry, he preached in various locations of the world operating in the prophetic and a deliverance ministry. He demonstrated a history of producing a helpful hand to those in need and through the Power of God. Bishop is preceded in death by his mother Gertrude Payton Wynne, step-father Elmer Wynne, brother Nathan Cunningham. Bishop leaves behind his wife Dowattie (Samantha) Payton Baytown, TX, children Patricia Walker (Qwan Walker) Richmond, TX, Sandyia Payton Humble, TX, Jordan Johnson Boston, MA, Madelyn and Jay Valle and Oscar Payton, Jr Baytown, TX, grandson Joshua Walker and a host of relatives and close friends.
