James Russell McDonald, 55, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 25, 2017 in Granbury, Texas. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 pm Friday, March 31, 2017 at College Heights Baptist Church. The Rev. Jerry Melson will officiate. James was born on October 26, 1961 in Fort Worth, Texas, to Saundra Haviland and Kenneth McDonald. James worked for Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant for 35 years. He was an avid fisherman and loved spending time outdoors with family and friends. He adored his daughter and they shared many special memories together including watching and attending NASCAR races. James was preceded in death by his mother, Saundra Haviland; paternal grandparents, Paul and Olive McDonald; maternal grandparents, Richard and Virginia Beech. He is survived by his daughter, Meghan Richardson and husband, Kurt, of Cleburne; grandson, Carter Richardson; father, Kenneth McDonald of Granbury; stepfather, Charlie Haviland of Benbrook; brothers, Sean McDonald and wife Emma of Parker, Kerry McDonald and wife Shannon of Plano, sister, Stacy McDonald of Granbury; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family requests that memorials be made to College Heights Baptist Church, 1007 Phillips Street, Cleburne, Texas 76033.
