Services for Nan Bryant, 62, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 pm, Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Main Street Baptist Church with Bro. Paul Trent, Bro. Bruce Smilie and Dr. Royal Becker officiating under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Woodside Cemetery. Nan passed away October 15, 2016 at her home in Grand Saline. She was born April 8, 1954, in Wills Point to William and Iola Little Mae Goggans Fowler. She lived all her life in Van Zandt County and spent the last 35 years in Grand Saline. Nan was a member of the Edgewood High School class of 1970 and also attended Tyler Junior College and Texas A&M Commerce. She was a teacher at Grand Saline ISD for 17 Years and a member of Main Street Baptist Church and the Jubilee Sunday School class. She was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws, Walton Edward Bryant, Sr. and Verlie Lee Bryant. Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Walt Bryant of Grand Saline; two sons, Jason Smith and wife Heather of Forney and Jarrod Bryant and wife Starla of Sulphur Springs; daughter, Janley Appleton and husband Jon of Forney; two sisters, Rita J. Williams of Canton and Betty J. Williams of Palestine; six grandchildren, Taylor Smith, Kylie Smith, Cavern Bryant, Crimson Bryant, Jonathan Appleton and wife Amanda, and Jayce Appleton; and numerous other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Royal Becker, Rusty Blanchard, Wayne Jarmon, Michael Goggans, Mike Rogers, and David Martin. Honorary pallbearers are Gerald Denton, Don Maxfield, Don Yarbrough, and Jimmy Carter. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
