Jesse “Uca” Maldonado, age 72, of Nixon, passed away February 7, 2017 in San Antonio. He was born January 25, 1945 in Nixon, Texas to Eugene and Elvira (Garcia) Maldonado. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Maldonado. Jesse is survived by his former spouse, Mary Maldonado of Nixon; his children: Joseph Maldonado and wife Theresa of San Marcos, Monica Garcia and husband Charlie of Lake Hills, Dolores “Dee” Covington and husband John of Canyon Lake, Jesse Maldonado Jr. of Nixon, Jacob Maldonado and Corina Angelica of Nixon; his grandchildren: Nikole, Ashlyn, Dylan, Derek, Emily, J.C., Kaden, Amaris, Jace, Aaron, and Devon; a great-grandchild, Kai Major; two sisters: Josephina Gaytan and husband Pete, Elvira “Beatty” Hilt; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as other loving family and many friends. A Visitation will be held Friday, February 10, 2017 from 5 PM – 8 PM at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon with a Rosary recited at 6:30 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Ouseph Kuriakose officiating. Interment will follow in the Nixon Latin American Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 207 S. Washington Ave., Nixon, TX 78140.
