<p>Modesto Garcia Soto, age 78, of Nixon passed away November 16, 2016 in Stockdale. He was born April 7, 1938 in San Mateo, Zacatecas, Mexico. </p><p><br></p><p>He was preceded in death by his parents, Fabiana Soto and Tomas Garcia; a son, Pedro Antonio Garcia and three other children. He is survived by his wife, Lidia Garcia Carrillo; three sons: Modesto Garcia Jr. and wife Maricela, Salvador Garcia and wife Guadalupe, Miguel Garcia and wife Rosa; two daughters: Alicia Garcia and Rafaela Galvan-Garcia; grandchildren: Omar Garcia, Liliana Garcia, Diego Garcia, Pedro Antonio Garcia, Naiomy Garcia, Arturo Garcia, Leonardo Garcia, Alex Garcia, Cecillia Garcia, Jacqulyn Garcia, Miguel Garcia Jr., Griselda Galvan, Vanessa Galvan, Tania Galvan, Yesenia Galvan, Pedro Galvan, Victor Galvan, Meliton Galvan, Jimmy Lee Garcia, Abigail Garcia, Patrick Garcia; 16 great-grandchildren; as well as other loving family and many friends. </p><p><br></p><p>The family wishes to thank the staff of Stockdale Nursing Center for caring for him during his time there in his final years.</p><p><br></p><p>A Visitation will be held Thursday, November 18, 2016 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon with a Rosary recited at 6:30 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Nixon. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made by way of mass cards. </p><p><br></p><p>Arrangements entrusted to Finch Funeral Chapel, LLC of Nixon (830) 582-1521.</p>
