A daughter of Ralph Lee and Beulah Clorine Howard Bolton, she was born in the Slabtown community on July 11, 1944. A lifelong resident of Lamar County, she attended Delmar School, where she was an excellent student and star basketball player.
She was wooed and consented to marry the love of her life, John Wayne Reddell on July 22, 1961. During their forty-five years of marriage she was a partner with her husband in every endeavor that was ventured, from drag racing, to hay baling, to glass shop owner. She was affectionately known as a feisty little pack of dynamite, who had a mischievous side and leaves her family with many funny and fond memories of her practical jokes.
She was an outstanding cook, an avid shopper and best friend to her three daughters. She took the role of wife, mother and Nana seriously, making sure other’s needs were met before her own. Until her illness she never missed an extracurricular event that took place involving her daughters or grandchildren.
Her career choices varied from soda jerk at the Corner Drug Store to bookkeeper for City Electric Motor Service. In 1981 she and her husband purchased Al Dunning Glass and Metal Shop. After twenty years as Vice-President, she retired in 2001. During her retirement she enjoyed the companionship of Faye Stephens. They spent time riding the countryside on her ATV, eating out, garage sales and spending time with her beloved mother-in-law, “Me-Maw” Louise Reddell. She touched many lives with her unselfish nature and she will live on in each of the hearts of those who love her.
She is survived by her husband, John Wayne Reddell; daughters Diedra Rast, Dawn Malone and Dashielle Floyd and their spouses, Lee Rast, Barry Malone and Scotty Floyd. Grandchildren are Ty and Will Rast, Jacob, Cody, Macy, Molly and Malone, Sydney, Ryder and Kip Floyd; mother-in-law, Louise Reddell; brothers Rex Bolton, Jim Bolton, and David Bolton; sisters Carole Jackson and Lynne Asbery; numerous cousins, nieces and nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Beulah Bolton; her father-in-law, John Herman Reddell; and siblings Bennie Howard and Dixie Jean Bolton.
In lieu of usual remembrances, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
