Karen Dickerson Spanish Fork, Utah Obituary

Karen Dickerson

Karen Lassen Dickerson returned to her Heavenly Father on Friday, August 7, 2015. She left this earth in the loving arms of her son Todd while enjoying the beautiful mountains of Utah. Karen was born June 10, 1943 in Provo, Utah, to Harold and Nancy Lassen. Karen was raised in Spanish Fork, Utah and graduated from Spanish Fork High school in 1961. While in high school Karen was introduced to the love of her life Edward “Lee” Dickerson. They were sealed for time and eternity on October 11, 1962 in the Manti LDS Temple. Soon their family began with the birth of their daughter Lisa, followed by a son Todd and a daughter Kristen. Karen was an excellent seamstress. She worked for Barbizon as a seamstress for many years and later at Press Publishing in the finishing department. Karen also loved to crochet and made many baby afghans for her grandchildren as they came along. She loved to play games with her kids. She especially loved the water fights that seemed to happen at each family get together. She even had her own “Super Soaker” squirt gun that she would drench us with. She loved camping and having fun in the outdoors. She left us while doing something she loved-camping in Twelve Mile Canyon with her family. One of Karen’s greatest joys was her grandchildren. She had ten grandchildren: Christopher Gordon, Allyson Gordon Grooms, Ashlee Gordon, Zackary Dickerson, Jordyn Dickerson, Kayden Dickerson, Kaylee Farnsworth, Tyler Farnsworth, Baylee Farnsworth and McKenzie Farnsworth. She loved to brag about how great all of her grandchildren were and the things that they were doing. Karen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved attending the temple with her neighbors. She and Lee served as service missionaries for two years at the Lindon Cannery before its closure. Karen is survived by her husband Edward Lee Dickerson, daughter Lisa (Kelly) Gordon, son Todd Dickerson, mother Nancy Lassen, and brother Steven (Marsha) Lassen all of Spanish Fork, Utah. She was preceded in death by her daughter Kristen Lee Farnsworth, father Harold Lassen and mother-in law Madge Shepherd. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 14, 2015 at 11:00am at the 14th Ward LDS Chapel, 1750 East 750 South, Spanish Fork, Utah. Family and friends may attend viewings to be held Thursday August 13 from 6:00pm till 8:00pm and Friday one hour prior to services at the same location. Interment will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
