April 17, 1949 – March 8, 2008

Aaron Grinage, the son of the late Obinas Grinage Gunter, Richard Gunter, and Albert Hall, was born on April 17, 1949 in Baltimore, MD. He departed this life on Saturday, March 8, 2008. Aaron was formally educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. In 1971, Aaron and Beatrice moved to the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Before becoming ill, he was employed at Virginia Department of Transportation for twenty-four years. He took great pride in his position as foreman and often had many stories to tell about the adventures he and his VDOT co-workers experienced. In 1969, he was joined in holy matrimony to Beatrice D. Moore and from this union, three children were born. As a child, Aaron obtained membership and attended Sharp Street United Methodist Church in Chase, MD. He later became a member of First Baptist Church in Mappsville, VA under the pastoral leadership of Rev. James I. Boyd. On August 19, 2000, he affirmed his service and dedication to the Lord and was ordained as a deacon. Fondly nicknamed "Earnie Boy" by family and "Poppy" by his grandchildren, he was extremely loved. He never met a stranger, he was constantly joking and he loved to make others smile. He was never afraid to mince words and had the ability to touch people's lives in a very special way. Predeceasing him in death, his parents, Obinas Grinage Gunter and Richard Gunter; siblings, Rodney and Leona Grinage; and a granddaughter, Crystal Grinage. He leaves to cherish his memories; his devoted wife Beatrice; two sons, Sean and Keith Grinage; one daughter, Kia Grinage-Reid (Allan); thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three aunts; a mother-in-law; one sister-in-law; four brothers-in-law; one nephew; three godchildren; numerous adopted grandchildren; and a host of cousins and friends.
