Bobby Wayne Austin – Duffield, VA Bobby Wayne Austin, 78, Duffield, VA passed away, Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at his residence of an apparent heart attack. Bobby was born in Scott County, VA on September 15, 1938. He was the son of the late Elmer Lee and Georgia (Jones) Austin. He was retired from Brock and Virginia Birmingham Bolt; was an avid fisherman and hunter; and enjoyed vintage cars and the outdoors. In addition to his parents, his son, Jackie Wayne Austin; daughter, Connie Austin; brother-in-law, Lubert Hammond; and sister-in-law, Ruth Austin preceded him in death. His survivors include his wife, Patsy Austin, Duffield, VA; children, Bill Austin, Ron Austin and wife, Susan, Travis Austin and wife, Bobbie, and Jennifer Rogers, Patricia Dean and husband, Joe, Jr.; grandchildren, Shawna Mitchell and husband, Isaac, Olivia Austin, Channing Austin, Dominic Austin, Isaiah Austin, Aden Collier, and Leland Austin; great grandchild, Keaton Crawford; siblings, Cecil Austin, Polly Hammond, and Vextal Austin; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Sunday, November 13, 2016 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Evangelist Kenneth Neeley and Daryle Hurd officiating. David Docker, Chris Holder and Journey Home will provide the music. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 14, 2016 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. David Dockery, Joe Dean, Jr., Larry France, Mark Dingus, Brian Dingus, Ron Austin, Travis Austin, and Bill Austin will serve as pallbearers. Daryle Hurd and Cecil Austin will serve as honorary pallbearers. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m., Monday to go in procession to the graveside service.
