Barbara Hensley

Barbara Ann Hensley, age 60, of Pounding Mill, Virginia, passed away Tuesday (December 13, 2016) at her home. Born January 16, 1956 in Richlands, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Troy and Dorothy Estep Allen. A lifelong resident of southwest Virginia, she had spent her life in Hurley, Virginia and was a graduate of Hurley High School prior to moving to Rosedale, Virginia. She was of the Pentecostal faith and enjoyed sewing, gardening, taking care of her fur baby, Daisy, and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister-in-law, Jeanene Allen. Survivors include two daughters, Andrea Davis and husband, Tony of Pounding Mill and Ashley Hensley of Radford, Virginia; two sisters, Wanda Crockett and husband, Butch of Hurley, Virginia and Lorraine Woodard and husband, Wilbur of Chesapeake, Virginia; three brothers, Greg Allen and wife, Cherida and Wilson Allen and wife, Carolyn both of Hurley, Virginia and Paul Allen of Lynchburg, Virginia; special fur baby daughter, Daisy Mae; the son she never had, William Lester and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. W.L. Franklin and Bro. Danny Hess officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Aaron Bostic, Butch Crockett, Cedric Mitchum, Triston Waddle, Alex Cordill and Darrell Cordill. Johnny Blankenship, Wilbur Woodard, William Lester and Tony Davis will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6 PM Friday.
