Cathy Crabtree

Cathy Lynn Crabtree, age 62, of Bee, Virginia, passed away Wednesday (November 9, 2016) at her home. Born September 2, 1954 in Tazewell County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Vergie Alline Stevens Musick. A lifelong resident of the area, she was of the Freewill Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, whom she called “Mom and Dad”, Johnny and Berthie Stevens, husband, Elmer Lambert, one brother, Carlos “Buck” Johnson, and two sisters, Mary Whited and Dolly Crabtree. Survivors include her husband, Virgil Crabtree; three children, Brian Stevens and wife, Becky of Finney, Angela Thornsberry and fiancé, Rodney Urbani of Bluff City, Tennessee, and Donna Hurley Yates and husband, Alfred of Prater, Virginia; eight grandchildren, Dakota Stevens, Dawson Stevens, Tommy Stevens, Logan Stevens, Dustin Peck, Cory Thornsberry, Samara Hurley, and Dylan Hurley; two brothers, Marvin Johnson and wife, Wanda of Abingdon, and Gary Johnson of Council; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Robert Tiller, Rev. Mike Dye, and Rev. Don Sullivan officiating. Interment will follow in the Frank Smith Cemetery on Big A Mountain, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Dakota Stevens, Dawson Stevens, Cory Thornsberry, Dustin Peck, Dylan Hurley, Alfred Yates, Gary Allen Johnson, Wayne Hale, Scott Hale, Keith Crabtree, and B.J. Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Stevens, Logan Stevens, and Samara Hurley. The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Friday, where an evening service will be conducted at 7:00 PM.
