Mrs. Jacqueline (Jackie) Bachman, a longtime Winchester resident passed away peacefully at Blue Ridge Hospice Care Center on Wednesday, February 15th. Mrs. Bachman was born in Newark, New Jersey on June 20, 1934, the daughter of Joseph and Secrada Supulski. She and her family moved to Lancaster Pennsylvania in 1944. She graduated from J. P. McCaskey High School in 1952 and in 1953 she married Charles (Chuck) Bachman. They moved to Killeen, Texas while Chuck was stationed at Fort Hood. Following their time in Texas they moved back to Pennsylvania eventually settling in Winchester in 1958. Jackie was a homemaker, and a professional seamstress and worked several years at Ellies Bridal Shop. She also worked at Ram Jewelers (later known as Richards Jewelers). She was active in Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority for many years and was honored as Woman of the Year in 1969. She was an avid bridge player and loved to work on her garden. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Chuck of 62 years. She is survived by her brother Malcom Supulski (Joanne) of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, her sister Beatrice Motter of Stephenson, Virginia; her two sons David Bachman (Rae) of Winchester and Michael Bachman (Meg) of Stephens City and a daughter Katherine Bachman Tobin (Lee) of Woonsocket, RI. She is also survived by four Grandchildren, Elizabeth Rodriquez (Gabe) of Charlottesville, Emily Tobin of Deep Creek, MD, Christian Bachman and Mairi Bachman of Stephens City as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Jones Funeral Home on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Raleigh Watson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service and will hold a luncheon at the family’s home following the service. Burial will be at Longeneckers Reformed Mennonite Cemetery in Strasburg, Pennsylvania at a later date. The family asks that Memorials be made to the Blue Ridge Hospice Center or the Shenandoah Chapter 313 of the Korean War Veterans Association.
