Fredie Wylet

Dale Wylet was born April 13, 1925, in Duluth MN. November 11, 2016, he went peacefully to be with the Lord, at the age of 91, surrounded by his family. He spent his early years growing up in Bonners Ferry, ID. After serving during WWll with the U.S. Army, Dale received an honorable discharge. After the war, Dale moved to Wenatchee in 1943, where he met his bride, Arla Goakey, in 1945. They were married April 4, 1946, and April 4, 2016, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Dale owned and operated Dale’s Beauty Salon for over 40 years. During the early years of his profession, he was instrumental with the state of Washington in increasing the licensing scope of practices which included cosmetology and cutting men’s hair. Dale received many awards for his innovative hair styles and was the first in the valley to offer frosted hair. When Dale retired, he started oil painting, continued growing beautiful flowers, traveled and enjoyed the outdoors. Dale was an elder in his church and taught Sunday school for 26 years. Dale is survived by his wife, Arla Wylet; daughters, Leanne Wylet Housden (Don), Teresa Wylet, Karen Peterson; five grandchildren, five great- grandchildren, two great-great-grand children; and a brother, Don Wylet. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters. A celebration honoring Dale’s life will be held Friday, November 18, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at Faith Presbyterian Church, 200 S. Kentucky, East Wenatchee, WA. Interment is at Wenatchee City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Dale’s name to a charity of your choice. Arrangements are by Telford’s Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee, WA.
