James Williamson Wenatchee, Washington Obituary

James Williamson

Jim Williamson, 80, of East Wenatchee, WA, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2016, surrounded by loving family at Central Washington Hospital. Jim was born in St. John, KS, in 1936 to Violet and Floyd Williamson. The family moved to the Yakima Valley around 1941, where he graduated from Wapato High School in 1955. He then joined the Navy with his best friend, John Kimmel. He loved serving in the Navy, where he learned to cook for thousands of fellow sailors. While in the service, he fell in love with Pat Nolan and they had two children: Shelly and Jim. They later divorced and Jim met and married Carol Smith, who had two children: Bambi and Bill, and together, they had Rebecca. He worked at Central Pre-Mix delivering concrete to numerous job sites in the Yakima Valley for 25-plus years. He was a hard worker who understood the satisfaction of a job well done. He loved to garden and was able to build waterfalls and ponds in several of the family homes. Jim was a quiet but amazing man who made everybody he met feel special. He had a quick wit about him and was joking with the nurses until the end. He is survived by daughters: Shelly Williamson (Mike), Bambi Quinn (Paul), Rebecca Rohman (Orv); sons: Jim Williamson (Mari) and Bill Quinn; sister, Sharon; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held at Telford’s Chapel of the Valley on Monday, November 21, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. Viewing will be prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The service will conclude at the funeral home with private interment in Libby, MT. Following the funeral, there will be a Celebration of Life at Bonaventure Senior Living in East Wenatchee, WA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jim’s name to the American Diabetes Foundation. Arrangements are by Telford’s Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee, WA.
