Roy Joseph Eckroth 88, Passed away December 17, 2016. Roy was born August 6, 1928 to Philip and Frances (Friesz) Eckroth in Judson, North Dakota. Moving from Mandan, North Dakota in 1937 to South Tacoma. There Roy attended Visitation School and Church, and graduated from Bellarmine. He married Shirley Percich in 1952 and together they raised four daughters. He retired from Burlington Northern Railroad after 46 years. Roy loved camping, fishing and the adventure of travel. Roy and Shirley spent many years after retirement traveling with their little dog Missy to Yuma and other areas in the US. Roy is survived by his three daughters and three grandchildren. JoAnn (Steve) O’Farrell, Sarah and RJ, Paula Mooney (Frank Dugger), Laurie (Bart) Farrar, Tyler. Sister Jo LaFreniere, many nieces and nephew. He is preceded in death by his wife Shirley of 58 years, daughter Carol (John) Johnson, and Brother Paul.Service will be held December 29th at St. Martin of Tours (2303 54th Ave E, Fife, WA 98424). Rosary at 10:30, Mass at 11:00 with a reception following in the church hall. Interment at Calvary Cemetery
