Life Story for Ruth Lamb Ruth Lamb, born September 12, 1925 in Tacoma, WA, passed away January 31, 2017 in Tacoma. Ruth was the only child of Glenn and Jane (Mulderig) McNeish. Growing up with deaf parents, Ruth became their ears and voice. She attended St. Leo’s School and graduated from St. Leo’s High School. During the World War II she met and married her husband, Glen Lamb, of Spokane, who was in the Navy. They were the perfect example of love for 55 years, until his death December 21, 1997. Ruth worked for the Railroad in Tacoma and later worked for Mr. Smith’s Nursery during the winter to always be home in the summer with the girls when they were out of school. She loved gardening and hence, a green thumb. She had three children, a son, Victor, two daughters Trina and Charlene. Charlene passed away December 16, 1996. For twenty years, Ruth enjoyed traveling with her daughter Trina to Beta Sigma Phi conventions. Among the Red Hat Ladies they were known as the traveling mother-daughter team called Klassie O’Hatties. For 15 years they traveled far and near having fun throughout Washing, Oregon, Montana, Nevada and Alaska Red Hat cruise. In the last 4 years Ruth found herself on dialysis and her life changed. She continued to smile and share with her daughter, Trina, by her side. Ruth is survived by her daughter Trina (Dennis) Hess; grandsons Derek (Chandra) Hess and Damian Ortiz; great-granddaughter Briana Hess; son, Victor (Carol) Lamb of Rainier, WA.. Ruth is also survived by her beloved grand-dogs Merlin and Gemma Hess. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Glen Lamb, daughter Charlene Ortiz and grandson Aaron Hess. Friend to hundreds. Touched the lives of thousands. The family wishes to thank Heartwarming Care, Tacoma Lutheran, and Franciscan Hospice for their wonderful care.
