Carol Sapp

Carol Jean (Sayres ) Sapp, age 73, of Maple Ave., Grafton, WV passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the United Hospital Center in Clarksburg, WV. She was born in Pruntytown, February 11, 1943 a daughter of the late Harry Grayson Sayres and Roberta Olive (Dunham) Sayres Smith. She is survived by five children, Jessica Sapp and companion, Scott Poling of Grafton, Catherine Lou Sapp-DeLauder and husband Bryon, of Grafton, Ret. MSGT Thomas Brent of Knob Noster, Missouri , Susan Stockett and husband Michael, of Winfield, WV, and Diana Robinson-Holmes and husband Clint also of Grafton; eight grandchildren, Jason Robinson and wife Morgan, Megan Luna and husband Chofo, Emily Monday and husband, Christopher, Shawnee Ware, Shane Stockett, Hannah Stockett, Maverick Ware, and Cassidy Brent; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Sayres and wife Imogene, of Cross Lanes, WV and Robert Smith and wife Claire, of North Carolina; one sister, Pam Sayres Loughran of Romney, WV; brother-in-law, Larry Reed and wife Linda, of Grafton; also survived by several nieces and nephews In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. “Sappo” Sapp, who passed away on August 31, 2007; two sisters, Janice Lou Clayton and one sister who died in infancy. She was a member of the Fetterman United Methodist Church in Grafton and a member of the United Methodist Women. Carol was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister to her family. She was also a caretaker to her loved ones. At Carol’s request, she will be cremated and there will be no funeral home visitation. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Monday, January 2, 2017 at the Fetterman United Methodist Church at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Sam Sterling officiating. A private graveside service will be conducted at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to the Fetterman United Methodist Church 371 George Washington Hwy., Grafton, WV 26354
