Billy Charles Curry, age 72 of Verdunville departed this life to make his home in heaven on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 while in the Logan Regional Medical Center. He was born on April 17, 1935 on Elk Creek at Delbarton, WV and was the son of the late Phillip Sheridan and Tennessee Gilman Curry, he was also preceded in death by one son; James Edward Curry, and three brothers; Warren, Joe, and Bud Curry.
He was a member of the Central United Baptist Church, a United States Navy veteran, he worked as a cross country truck driver, the owner of A & B Cash & Carry, and he retired from United Parcel Service. He was an avid bowler and golfer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Alma Rae Maynard Curry, (2) two sons; Phillip Hi Curry of Mississeuauga, Canada and Charles Ray (Betty) Curry of Verdunville, (6) six grandchildren; Michael (Jada) Curry of Scott Depot, Jennifer Curry of Greensboro, NC, Jeremy Curry of Richmond, VA, Jeffery Curry of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Jessica (Matthew) Veasey of Raleigh, NC, and Trevor Curry of Verdunville, (2) two great-grandchildren; Derek and Claire Curry of Scott Depot. Also surviving include a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, a special niece, Emily Colegrove, and many good friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at 1:00 PM at the Central United Baptist Church in Logan with Rev. Glenn White, Jr. and Rev. Randy Skeens officiating. Burial will follow in the Estep Cemetery at Duncan Fork. Friends may call on Friday from 6:00-9:00 at the Central United Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Curry, Charlie Curry, Michael Curry, Jeffery Curry, Jeremy Curry, and Trevor Curry.
