Virginia Marion Phillips, 82 of Oak Hill, passed away on Wednesday, October 5. 2016 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley. Born November 30, 1933 in Hugheston, WV and is the daughter of the late Eugene Morris and Yula Robinson Morris. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Maxon D. Phillips; 6 sisters and 2 brothers. Those surviving include her children, Elizabeth “Becky” Shawver and husband Danny of Oak Hill and John Phillips and wife Connie of Oak Hill; sister, Gloria Mooney of Ohio; sister-in-law, Mary Morris of Glasgow; 3 grandsons, 3 great grandsons, and 1 great granddaughter also survive her. Services for Ms. Phillips will be conducted at 3pm Sunday, October 9, 2016 at the High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill with her grandson, Justin Phillips, officiating. Interment will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park also in Oak Hill. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may gather with the family from 2-3pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
