Wesley Tincher

Wesley W. Tincher, Jr., 83 of Fayetteville, went home to be the Lord on Friday, December 16, 2016 at his daughters, Kathy’s home, surrounded by his loving family. Born June 25, 1933 in Toney Hollow, West Virginia he was the son of the late Jessie Florence Griffey and Wesley W. Tincher, Sr. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his son Leslie W. Tincher; brothers, Leslie Tincher, Jimmy Griffey; grandparents, Henry and Rosie Tincher, Ollie and Sewell Rhodes. Wesley was a veteran of the Korean War and soon after went to work for his father. He then worked as a coal miner for the Slab Fork Coal Company, foreman for Ashcraft, and a foreman in a plastic plant located in Chicago. In addition to his employment as a coal miner and foreman he was also an ordained Baptist minister and served the congregation at Cunard Baptist Church and Sand Branch Freewill Baptist Church and also attended and helped at the Summerlee Baptist Church. While not preaching or working Wesley enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and hiking and also loved playing his guitar and singing. He was a very loving, humble, compassionate, and giving to all of his family and to all that knew him and he was the best father and grandfather that anyone could ask for. Wesley is survived by his children Elizabeth Koontz and husband Dana of Lansing, WV, Kathy Tincher of Fayetteville, WV, Steve Tincher and wife Cindy of Gatewood, WV; sisters, Glenna “Bonnie” Prather, Lois Belle Thompson, Joan Johns; grandchildren, Dana Wesley Koontz, Tonya Hopkins, Terry Lyons, Melissa Stanley, and Miranda Via; Great Grandchildren, Dana River Koontz, Kelsie Koontz, Zack Hopkins, Autumn Hopkins, Jonathan Lyons, Hannah Lyons, Tabitha Lyons, Matthew Honaker, Elijah Honaker, Andrew Honaker, and Jacob Honaker along with numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. In keeping with Mr. Tincher’s final wishes there will be no services and he will be entombed at High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Hospice of Southern West Virginia 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley WV 25801.
