Rose Catherine Herrick Goddard, 89 of Proctor, WV went home to her Lord on Thursday, November 24, 2016 while at Wetzel County Hospital. Rose was born October 23, 1927 in Proctor, WV, the fourth daughter and tenth child born to Albert W. and Bernetta (Shutler) Herrick Rose was a graduate of Magnolia High School. She was a homemaker, employee of PPG Industries and a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed flowers and needlework, but most of all she loved the closeness of her family and the times spent together. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Goddard (1996); son, Thomas E. Goddard (2006); brothers, Edwin Herrick (2000), John Herrick (1970) Andrew Herrick (1971), Martin Herrick (1991) Eugene Herrick (2001, Clem Herrick (2008), Thomas Herrick (2007) and Albert Herrick (2015); sisters, Beulah Estep (1997), Lucille Herrick (1961), Callista Habig (2010). She is survived by her children, Ronald (June) Goddard of Proctor, WV, Richard Goddard of Proctor, WV, Wayne P. (Becky) Goddard of New Martinsville, Colleen (Stuart) Redshaw of Canonsburg, PA, Kathryn Goddard of New Martinsville, WV; daughter-in-law, Charlene Goddard of New Martinsville, WV; grandchildren, Jason (Michelle) Goddard of Franklin, TN, Chad (Carissa) Goddard of Matthews, NC, Jordan Goddard of New Martinsville, WV, Angie Goddard of Charlotte, NC, Chris (Corrie) Goddard of Springboro, OH, Jaimie Goddard of Charlotte, NC, Jona (TJ) Johns of Fort Pierce, FL, Joe Goddard of West Seneca, NY, Dillon (Amanda Gill) of Abingdon, MD, Carrie (Ignacio) Goddard-Molina of Bakersfield, CA, Jeremy (Erin) Goddard of Proctor, WV, Ashley (Ryan) Smith of Parkersburg, WV, Andrea (Blaze Rogers) Cain of Morgantown, WV, Justin Cain and Lindsay (Tim Haywood) Cain of New Martinsville, WV; nine great grandchildren, Camden, Stella, Cayden, Emalynn, Owen, Declan, Beckett, Finn and Nola; sisters, Helena Baxter of New Martinsville, WV and Virginia Novel of Moundsville, WV; sisters-in-law, Eloise Herrick of New Martinsville, WV and Betty Herrick of Proctor, WV; brother-in-law, Chuck Habig of Woodsfield, OH. Many loving nieces and nephews. Friends received 1-4 and 5-7 p.m., Sunday, November 27, 2016 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville. Rosary service will be held 5 p.m., Sunday, November 27, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11a.m., Monday, November 28, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Rev. John P. McDonough as celebrant. Interment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Proctor, WV. Rose has requested her friends to donate to the charity of their choice in her memory.
