George Glasscock

George “Eddie” Glasscock, 74, of Shinnston, passed away at 2:05am, Thursday, July 14, 2016 at the United Hospital Center. He was born in Mannington, February 2, 1942, a son of the late Irene and Billie Glasscock. On May 10, 1986, he married Mary L. Jones Glasscock. He was first married to Helen Williams and together they had two children, Vickie Lynn Glasscock Dodd and Susan Diane Glasscock Jones, both of Mannington. Eddie is also survived by a step-daughter, Kelly Ann Bartlett and fiancé Kevin Arco, Lost Creek, three grandchildren, Jeremy Dodd, Brittany Jones, Dustin LaPointe, one great grandchild, Story White, sister-in-law, Carol Sue Smith and husband Dave, Mannington, nephew, Kevin Glasscock, wife Heather, and their son Hunter, Mannington, two nieces, Kellie Glasscock, Mannington, Kristi Martin, husband Doug, and their children, Wyatt and Addyson, of Mannington, mother-in-law, Margaret Louise Jones. He is preceded in death by one brother, James Daniel Glasscock. Eddie was a 1960 graduate of Mannington High School and a member of Jewel City Church. He was employed by Bayer Chemical for 33 years. Eddie loved sports, hunting, fishing, and camping. The family will receive friends at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston, from 2-8pm, Sunday where funeral services will be held at 11am, Monday, July 18, with Pastor Robert Shingleton officiating. Interment will be in the Shinnston Memorial Cemetery.
