David Butcher

David Burton Butcher (POPS), 80, of Flora, Mississippi passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at his residence following a brief illness. He was born in Lewis Co. on July 27, 1936: son of the late Howe G. Butcher and Georgia Irene (Clem) Butcher. On November 24, 1974 he married Ida Elizabeth (Stone) Butcher. Mr. Butcher is survived by nine children: Tammy Butcher of Flora, MS, La Dawn Eyre of Akron, OH, MARY Clary of Henderson, KY, David Lynn & Nancy Butcher of Ravenna, OH, James & Nancy Butcher of Flora, MS, Ronald & Sharon Butcher of Meridian, MS and Robert B. Butcher of Spotsylvania, VA, Charles Stone of Henderson, KY, 21 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers: Martin Butcher of FL and Charles Butcher of LA and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, David was preceded in death by two daughters Millie and Debbie Stone. Mr. Butcher was retired air conditioning technician. He spent his life hunting and fishing. He was also known for his love of golf. Mr. Butcher was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Saturday, November 12, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Mark Anderson officiating.
