Ronald Mick

Ronald Dewey Mick, 80, of Weston passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016 in Colonial Place in Elkins following an extended illness. He was born in Weston on April 28, 1936: son of the late Dewey Mick and Midget (Wiant) Mick. On July 9, 1961, he married Sandra (Shifflette) Mick, who survives. Ron is also survived by four children: Al (Kay) Mick of Weston, Scott Mick of Mt Clare, Kevin (Linda) Mick of Weston and Deborah (Glenn) Lough of Winfield, WV, 11 grandchildren: Hannah, Isaac, Abigail, Gabrielle, Samuel, Ryan, Derek, Kyle, and Kacy Mick and Lindsey and Courtney Lough and one great grandchild: Lyam Kelley. He is also survived by one sister: Viva White and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by two sisters: Viuca Roush and Viola Houghton. Mr. Mick retired as a foreman with Equitable Gas Company. He was a member of Broad Street United Methodist Church of Weston. Ron was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. Ron’s hobbies included playing golf, bowling and in his retirement, he enjoyed helping family and friends. Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Richard Justice officiating. Interment will follow services in the Weston Masonic Cemetery of Weston, WV. Full military honors will be conducted by the United States Marine Corp and the Lewis County Honor Guard.
