Ronald L Richards

Ronald Leroy Richards, age 84, a longtime Janesville resident, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Our House Memory Care, in Janesville. Ron was born March 13, 1932 in Janesville, the son of the late Roy G. & Mary E. (Rogers) Richards. He was a graduate of Janesville High School, Class of 1950, and then served his country in the U.S. Air Force and also served in the Air Force Reserves until his retirement. He was married to the former Marjorie Scott, and together they had 3 daughters. Ron later married Justine Bamke White, and they made their home in Eagle River, WI for over 18 years. He worked many years for General Motors Corp. until his retirement in 1989. Ron had a lifelong love of airplanes, and also very much enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors. He is survived by his 3 daughters, Ronna (Craig) Anderson, and Cheryl (Dan) Drozdowicz, both of Janesville, and Jeri Romanski, of Canon City, CO; his grandchildren, Jeff, Greg, Danny, Chelsea, Erin, Adam, and Haley; his great-granddaughters, Quinn and Laine; his sister, Carol Grams, of Janesville, nieces, nephews, and friends. Besides his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his sister, Arlene Schultz, and his wife, Justine. Memorial services celebrating Ron’s life will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the WHITCOMB-LYNCH FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, with Rev. Jerry Amstutz officiating. Military Rites by the V.F.W. Kienow-Hilt Post 1621 will follow the service. Private interment will take place in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Thursday at the FUNERAL HOME.
