Harley Brucker

Harley Allen Brucker, age 90, of Lake Buckhorn (Reedsburg, WI), formally of Cropsey, IL, died Thursday, October 13, 2016 at the Sauk County Health Care Center. Harley was born May 30, 1926, in Cropsey, IL, the son of Howard and Irene (Wenger) Brucker. He served in the Navy during WWII from 1944 through 1946. Upon returning home to Cropsey, he farmed from 1949 until 1991. Harley married Mary Jane “Janie” Kelm in 1962, and had three children, Krystal, Douglas and Edward. He retired in 1991 and moved with his wife to Lake Buckhorn, WI, where he enjoyed working at Ho-Chunk as a security guard, making beautiful wood projects and relaxing with his dog, Maxwell. Harley was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Jane Brucker; brother, Arnold Brucker and sister, Bernadine Brown. He is survived by his children, Krystal (Jeff) Schara of North Freedom, Douglas (Bethany) Brucker of Fairbury, IL, Edward (Leanne) Brucker of Chatsworth, IL; Grandchildren, Joshua (Annie) Schara, Jordyn Schara, Erin (Jake) Terven, Lane (Kala) Leake, Cassidy Brucker, Rhett Brucker, Austin Brucker and Bayli Brucker; 6 Great grandchildren Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016, from 2:00 until 5:00 P.M. at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg, WI. A visitation will also be held on Sunday, October 16, 2016, from 3:00 until 6:00 PM at the Duffy-Pils Memorial Home and again on Monday from 9:00 until 9:45 AM. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, October 17, 2016, at 10:00 A.M. at the Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, 100 West Maple Street, Fairbury, IL. Burial will take place in East Lawn Cemetery, Bloomington, IL. Memorials of remembrance may be made to the Sauk County Health Care Center, 1051 Clark Street Reedsburg, WI 53959. The Farber Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
