Marjorie B. Smith, 94, of Fairbank, Iowa, and formerly of Ft. Dodge, Iowa, died Friday morning, January 2, 2015 at Mercy Living Plus in Oelwein, Iowa. Marjorie was born July 7, 1920 in Eagle Grove, Iowa, the daughter of George and Mary (Brauer) Lalor. She graduated from Ft. Dodge High School and was united in marriage to Howard L. Smith on October 17, 1941 in Ft. Dodge. Following her husband’s retirement from the Ft. Dodge Messenger, the couple wintered in Sebastian, Florida, until moving to Fairbank. Marjorie loved her family, was an accomplished seamstress, and enjoyed cooking and traveling. She is survived by her two children; Barry (Cheryl) Smith, Stillwater, MN; and Dyette (Ob) Molstre, Fairbank, IA; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Howard on May 21, 2013; a granddaughter, Shawna Molstre; and two sisters, Dorothy Bockus and Beverly Edwards. A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date for both Marjorie and Howard.
