John Povec

<p>John Povec, 82, of Liberty Health Care Center, Youngstown; formerly of E. Elizabeth Street New Castle passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2004 at the Liberty Health Center. He was born in Sharpsville, PA June 29, 1922 the son of Joseph &amp; Susie Muntock Povec. His parents preceded him in death.</p><p><br></p><p>Mr. Povec retired in 1984 from Valley Vulcan Mold Co. of Hubbard, Ohio where he was a coremaker. A US Army Veteran of WWII, he served in the European Campaign with 241st Field Artillary Battalion. He was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with 4 bronze stars. He was a member of St. Michael Church of St. Vincent de Paul Parish. He enjoyed gardening, music &amp; traveling.</p><p><br></p><p>Survivors include a sister, Sophie Kroner of Hubbard Ohio and numerous nieces &amp; nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Ethel Bohizic Povec; 3 brothers, Joseph, Andrew &amp; Edward Povec &amp; 2 sisters, Sue Kresovski &amp; Ann Povec.</p><p><br></p><p>Visitation is Tuesday, November 23, 2004 from 6-8 pm and Wednesday, November 24, 2004 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at the Ed &amp; Don DeCarbo Funeral Home &amp; Crematory, Inc. 3000 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A service will be conducted at 11:00 am wednesday at the Funeral Home. Rev Jim Zingale of Grace Lutheran Church in Hubbard will officiate. Entombment will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens.</p>
