POPERNACK - Cheryl Marie, 53, Acosta died unexpectedly January 21, 2016 at her home. Born March 26, 1962 in Somerset the daughter of John Andrew Popernack, Jr. and Delores (Avery) Popernack-Felix. Preceded in death by parents, sister Bonnie Pletcher and nephew Timothy P. Whipkey, Jr. Survived by children Aubrey Popernack, Acosta and Lee Shane Moore married to Tyna (Buxton), Ottawa, ON, Canada and their father Lee W. Moore, Acosta; grandchildren Kyrah, Lyla, Isaiah and Talia; sister of John Popernack, III married to Connie (Soha), Gray; Robbie married to Barry Custer, Acosta; Georgiann married to Joe Blazin, Somerset and Theodore Popernack, Gray. Also survived by good friend Jane Crise, Somerset; numerous nieces and nephews and special pet dog Houdi. A graduate of North Star High School. Employed by Bedford-Somerset MH/MR, Somerset for 30 years. Cheryl was an avid animal lover having rescued many dogs. She also enjoyed spending her time traveling.
