Mr. Lloyd Earl Harrington, Sr., age 77, of Damascus, passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at his home.
He was born on July 23, 1932 in Salem, New Jersey a son of the late Jackson Emerson Harrington, Sr. and Helen Harbeson Harrington. Mr. Harrington had been a resident of Washington County, Virginia for the past 17 years and was a member of the Konnarock Seventh-day Adventist Church in Konnarock, Virginia. He was also a member of the Williamstown Lodge, No. 166 F&AM of Williamstown, New Jersey and served seven years in the United States Air Force. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Pearl Marie Harrington.
He is survived by his wife, Mae Roop Harrington of Damascus, Virginia; two daughters, Kathy Sue Murphy of Franklinville, New Jersey and Jill Marie Huenke of Monroeville, New Jersey; two sons, Jackson Emerson Harrington, III of Auburn, New Jersey and Lloyd Earl Harrington, Jr. of Encampment, Wyoming; one step-daughter, Janice E. Fuller of Damascus, Virginia; four step-sons, Donley Huggins of McDonald, Tennessee, David Huggins of Whitetop, Virginia, Jimmy Huggins of Meadowview, Virginia, and Quinten Huggins of Friendship, Virginia; one brother, David W. Harrington and wife Floretta of Tuscon, Arizona; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; seventeen step-grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren.
Services for Mr. Lloyd Harrington, Sr. will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, July 17, 2010, in the Konnarock Seventh-day Adventist Church, 590 Konnarock Rd., Damascus, VA 24236. Pastor James Cox and Pastor David Tripp will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. prior to the service at the church. Interment will be Friday, July 23, 2010, at 2:00 P.M. in the Military Cemetery in Salem County, New Jersey, with full military honors. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staffs of Johnston Memorial Hospital, Bristol Regional Medical Center, and Hospice of Southwest Virginia. Friends may call at the home of Mr. Harrington at anytime.
