Mildred Norgard

Mildred (Bogue) Norgard was born on February 4, 1919 in Omaha, Nebraska to James and Theda (Dickman) Bogue. She grew up in Omaha where she attended Jackson Grade School and graduated from Omaha Technical High School in 1936. As a young girl, Millie enjoyed music, played the piano, worked horses at AK-SAR-BEN and played basketball. Millie married Normand Norgard on August 2, 1945 at the courthouse in Hiawatha, Kansas and to this union two daughters were born: Sharron and Noreen. Millie and Norm raised their family in Omaha until 1958 when they moved their family to Elkhorn. After High School, Millie worked for Herzberg’s as a clothing buyer, traveling to Chicago and New York City to make her purchases. After she was married, Millie became a homemaker and stay at home mom. Millie enjoyed antiques, and raised Quarter Horses. The family spent many vacations at their cabin in Minnesota. For Millie it was always family first, she loved to gather her family together on any occasion. In recent years, Millie looked forward to driving trips with Norm into the countryside to enjoy the local beauty. Millie passed away on Monday, November 24, 2008 at Marquis Place in Elkhorn, Nebraska at the age of 89 years, 9 months and 20 days. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Theda, sisters Theda and Gladys and brother Frank. Millie is survived by her husband Norm; daughters and sons-in-law Sharron and Jim Perchal of Elkhorn, Nebraska and Noreen and David Trofholz of Omaha, Nebraska; 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
