Obituary for Christine Parker Vinnie

Christine Parker Vinnie was born on June 25, 1927 in Craddockville, Virginia to the late John L. Sr. and Lillian Sample Parker. She departed this life on August 11, 2009. She attended the public schools of Accomack County, Virginia. Christine was a member of Herbert Baptist Church and later joined Antioch Baptist Church. She dedicated her life to God and faithfully served her Church family as an usher, member of the Senior Choir, missionary, and custodian. She was also the .Church Mother..

Christine loved to talk, help others and travel. She enjoyed transporting people wherever they needed to go. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James E. Vinnie, and two brothers, John L. Parker, Jr. and James .Buddy. Parker.

She leaves to mourn her passing: five sons, William Lee Smith, Charles Thomas (Rosemary) Vinnie, Jr. of Painter, VA, George Henry Vinnie, Theodore (Lucille) Vinnie of Philadelphia, PA, and Bernard (Margaret) Vinnie of Tasley, VA; three daughters, Barbara Mae (William) Boggs of Lewes, DE, Shirley Edmonds and Bessie Ann (Larry) Stevens of Melfa, VA; twenty-four grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Helen Vinnie; two sisters, Willie Mae Barclay of Woodberry, NJ and Helen Bundick of Painter, VA; special niece, Sandra Sheppard; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, August 15, 2009 @ 3:00 p.m. at Herbert Baptist Church in Wachapreague, VA with Rev. Frank Morris, officiating. Interment will be in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, Painter, VA.
