Services: 1 p.m., Sunday, October 18 (Clark Family Funeral Chapel)

Visitation: Noon until time of Service, Sunday, October 18 (Clark Family Funeral Chapel)

Donald Lewis Elkins, 64, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Thursday, October 8, at Central Michigan Community Hospital.

A Memorial Service for Don will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, at Clark Family Funeral Chapel with Cheryl Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until the time of service at Clark Family Funeral Chapel.

Donald was born on September 10, 1945, in Union Township, Isabella County to James R. and Lucille V. (Sage) Elkins. Donald served in the United States Army in Thailand from 1967-1969. Donald married Nora Kapplar and was a lifelong resident of Isabella County. Donald retired from General Motors in 1999 and was a member of the United Auto Workers. Donald enjoyed a close, loving relationship with his son Darrell. He enjoyed watching sports and loved his dogs.

Donald is survived by his son Darrell Elkins (Deanne), three step-grandchildren Ashley, Amber and Jacob; siblings Robert Elkins of Mt. Pleasant, Richard A. Elkins of Lake Jackson, TX, Betty Schafer (Everett), Sally Bellinger (Marvin), both of Mt. Pleasant, and Barbara Recker (Richard) of Shepherd.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents.
