Jonathan Ahlroth

Jonathan David Ahlroth, 65, of Grants Pass died May 5, 2010, at his home. He was born April 12, 1945, in South Bend, Ind., to Franklin and Elizabeth Ahlroth. He graduated from Green Hills High School in Cincinnati. During the Vietnam War, he served in the Navy from January 1963 until his honorable discharge in May 1967. On Dec. 12, 1967, he married Mary Lazette Tomlin, who survives. They moved to Southern Oregon in 1980 from Los Angeles. From 1980 to 2010, he owned and operated Jon's Airless Spray Equipment. He was a member of the Southern Oregon Fly Fishers and he enjoyed photography, fly fishing, tying flies, motorcycles, skiing, river rafting, hunting and his friends. In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Joy Snipes of Grants Pass and Joni Bruce of Medford; a son, David Snipes of Bakersfield, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
