Funeral services for Thomas Lyde Smith III, age 54 of Jacksonville will be held on Monday, March 10, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel with full Masonic Rites and Chaplain Thomas Allred officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs.
Mr. Smith died March 8, 2008 at the VA Hospital, Birmingham,
Mr. Smith was a resident of Jacksonville, Al. He was a graduate of Marion Military Institute and Jacksonville State University. Mr. Smith was the designer and creator of the Veterans Memorial Park in Anniston. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 443 and the Anniston York Rite Bodies, Past Blusterous Master and Red Cross of Constantine
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife Maureen Shirley Smith, Jacksonville; son, Christopher Thomas Lyde Smith, Jacksonville; Father Thomas Lyde Smith Jr., Fairhope, AL; Mother Jane Donald Smith, Fairhope, Al; Brother Donald G. Smith, Norfolk, VA, Sister Amanda Andrus Salt Lake City, Utah; and Aunt Sarah Anne Smith, Anniston.
