Milton Harris Obituary

Milton Harris, 75, of East Greenville, died Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at Suburban Hospital from complications of Alzheimer’s. A long term resident of East Greenville, Mr. Harris was a Manager in the Human Resources Department of Knoll International in East Greenville for 17 years, where he became known throughout the community for his activities on behalf of Knoll employees and their families. After retirement from Knoll, Milt became the baker of the Upper Perkiomen Valley’s best sticky buns at Sticky Business in East Greenville, where loved to come out of the kitchen and chat with morning customers over a cup of coffee. For years he sang with the North Pennsmen Barbershop Chorus and sang lead with the Quaker Notes Company Quartet. He was a member of Unami Friends Quaker Meeting. Mr. Harris is survived by his wife of 30 years, Greta (Daley) Harris, four step-children, Robert Lukens of Birdsboro, Greta Marie Forgan of Lansdale, Carla Jones of Hereford, and Tim Lukens of Blue Bell; grandchildren Robert Jones and Rhanay Jones, and three sons, Michael and Ronald Harris of Charlottesville, Virginia and Marlin Harris from the Richmond area, and numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his sister, the Reverend Marjorie Jones of Bayhshore, Long Island, his brother James, and his parents, Ollie Harris and Clarissa Jackson Harris from Richmond, Virginia. His gentle, loving spirit will be greatly missed by his family and innumerable friends. In keeping with Milton’s desire there will be no funeral service. A Memorial gathering will be arranged in the near future. Memorial contributions can be made to Open Line, 452 Penn Street, Pennsburg 18073, or the Alzheimer’s Association, Delaware Valley Chapter, 100 N. 17th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103. Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pennsburg, is in charge of arrangements. Condolences and contributions may be offered at www.falkfuneralhomes.com.
