Clyde Moses Obituary

Clyde Edmond Moses, 91, of Franklin, NC, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2006. A native of Jackson County, he was the son of the late William Moses and Fannie Keener Moses. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Charlie, Arthur, Pete, Claude, Adam, Howard and Willie and sisters Mary and Clara. Clyde was a US Army veteran of WWII and served during the liberation of Italy. He was a heavy equipment operator for T.V.A. and traveled extensively, working in tunnels from California to New York and various points in between. He was a faithful member of Higdonville Baptist Church. He loved his church and never missed a singing. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bessie Russell Moses; four children, Carmella Pruett and husband Tom, Ed Moses and wife Mary Lou, Connie Corbin and husband David, and Charlene Bryson all of Franklin; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 21, at Higdonville Baptist Church. Rev. Mack Hutson and Rev. Ronnie Owens will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the VFW Post 7339 and American Legion Post 108. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, at Macon Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Higdonville Baptist Church, C/O Harold Rayborn, 1459 Cat Creek Road, Franklin, NC 28734. Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
