Larry Ammons

Larry Richard Ammons, 50, of Franklin, passed away Monday, November 8, 2010. Born in Macon County, he was the son of Lillie Mae Green and the late Ellis Ammons. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Josh Ammons. Larry was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was a member of Watauga Baptist Church. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Debbie Queen Ammons; three children, Angela Henderson of Clermont, FL, Valerie Miles of Fort Hood, TX and Joey Ammons of Franklin; two step children, Lena Williamson and Joseph Bryson both of Franklin; one sister, Martha Ammons of Franklin; three brothers, Kenny Ammons, Doug Ammons and Jimmy Ammons all of Franklin; seven grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 11, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. David Lee Williams, Rev. Gary McCoy and Rev. Davis Hooper will officiate. Burial will be in the Watauga Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 10, at Macon Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Greg Ammons, Johnny Ammons, Mike Browning, Keith Browing, Shane Boatwright, Randy Ammons, Les Green and Jack Hodgins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dustin Vinson and Daylon Tallent. Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
