EAST WATERFORD, Matthew M. “Matt” Murphy, 35, of East Waterford, died at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, June 14, 2008, in Lack Twp., Juniata County from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Born September 14, 1972 in Derry Twp., Mifflin County a son of Harry B. and Brenda L. (Swartz) Murphy, of R.R.#1, Honey Grove. In addition to his parents he is survived by his fiancé Leah M. Hopewell and her children Tyler and Nathanial, all of East Waterford, two sisters, Cathy Imes and her husband Ken, of R.R.#1, Honey Grove, Carey Wilson and her husband Steve, of Newport, two brothers, Harry R. Murphy, Christopher E. Murphy and his wife Dawna all of R.R.#1, Honey Grove. He attended the South Juniata Baptist Church, R.R.#1, Honey Grove, was a 1990 graduate of Juniata High School, and a 1992 graduate of Vale Tech, Blairsville. Mr. Murphy owned and operated Murphy’s Siding and Power Washing Co. of East Waterford. Matt loved the outdoors, riding motorcycles, hunting; fishing and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 19, 2008 from the South Juniata Baptist Church, R.R.#1, Honey Grove with the Rev. Dennis Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the McCullochs Mills Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Matthew M. Murphy Memorial Fund, C/O Juniata Valley Bank, P.O. Box 66, Mifflintown, PA 17059. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown.
